The story of this carol being written for guitar
accompaniment because the church organ was broken may or may not be apochryphal. Regardless, this simple carol is one of
the world's most well-known and beloved.
It has been translated into over 300 languages. I've included all the basic parts you
need: English carol with chords,
German words & a couple of nice tabs.
A beautiful arrangement of this may be found in Guitar World. The verses commonly sung today are
verses 1, 6 & 2 from the original carol.
